More good news!

On Tuesday I had a blood test and a Pet scan. The results show my CEA dropped to 7.3 and the tumors continue to shrink!

Eight down and possibly 4 to go! Had chemo today and now I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner next week!

Actually, Anna and I served Turkey dinner to the students at Etown last night. It's part of an annual traditionin which the faculty and staff serve them an upscale Thanksgivng dinner!
Afterwards we get to eat one too!! And it was terrific! The turkey is fresh roasted and carved when served. As you can see I'd rather talk about eating than chemo!

I'm scheduled for a scan on Tuesday 12/2. I'll update you then...jm :)

Update

Yesterday I received my sixth cemo treatment and have now retreated to my cave for a few days.

In addition to my CEA dropping my recent cat scan indicates a slight reduction to my tumors.

All good signs. As always thank you all for your continued concern!

In the meantime let's keep cheering for the World Series Phillies!

Update

Well I got some good news today. My CEA , which is a blood test that measures the cancer in your system, dropped f rom 213 to 30 ( 3 or below is normal).

So I will have two more chemo treatments before I have a PET scan to determine if I am able to have the tumors surgically removed.

Till then....
Keep smiling!!...jm :)

Thursday, September 25, 2008

Today I had my 4th chemo treatment. I'm usually wiped out for 5 days; so so for 5 more days and pretty good for the remaining 4 days. And then we start all over again!

I will have a cat scan before my next treatment in 2 weeks to determine if has been effective enough to continue. If not we will consider changing the chemicals or opting for surgery.

In any event I'm ready for it ! Thanks to all your prayers and support! ( and a little help from THE MAN UPSTAIRS who continues to give me the strength I need to carry on.)

By the way, if you want to make God laugh, tell Him your plans for the future!...jm:)

Update 2/13/08

Happy Valentine's Day!

At the moment my treatments are on hold. Although my blood tests suggest activity nothing is showing up on my Pet and Cat scans.

So I will have more scans in a couple of months and determine then if chemo is needed!

In the meantime I am enjoying the cold and messy winter weather!...Joe :)
