October 2014 Update.

My October scan was negative and my CEA was 2.1.

 Anna's bloodtests were all within normal limits.

My next scan wil be in March 2015!...jm

July 22, 2014 Update

My pet scan yesterday showed that the spot on my lung had been removed and that there was no evidence of any other cancer present!

My CEA was constant at 3.6.

My next scan is in November.

Anna had her stiches removed last Friday and she also received the good news that her thyroid was not cancerous!!

So all is well.

4/27/14 update

Since my last update I have completed my 4 sessions of radiation. In in July I will have a pet scan to see how effective they were.

Also , Anna has had her thyroid removed and is recuperating well. We won't know if it was cancerous or not for a week or so.

3/27/14 Update

A few months ago a Pet Scan revealed a spot on my lung . Subsequent scans have shown it getting bigger.

So starting next week I will begin receiving radiation to remove it.

As for Anna, a recent exam showed some lumps on her thyroid. Tests have suggested that there is a 40% chance that they are cancerous.

She has therefore decided to have it removed once my treatments have been completed.

We seem to be having these medical issues in tandem .

As these situations get resolved I will update the blog.

In the meantime we celebrated our 75th and 68th birthdays in February. I'll let you decide who was which : )
